Frederick MD Wedding and Portrait Photographer | Behind the Scenes With the KelbyOne Team

This behind-the-scenes look at filming my Blue Hour Mastery class shows how I approach light, composition, and storytelling — the same approach I bring to very wedding and portrait session I photograph as a Frederick MD wedding and portrait photographer in Frederick, Maryland and the surrounding area.

As a KelbyOne instructor, I’ve had the privilege of teaching photographers around the world, and that experience has only strengthened the way I capture real, authentic moments for my clients.

Here’s a short promotional video describing the Blue Hour Mastery class, exclusively available on KelbyOne.com

Being invited to teach with KelbyOne is truly such an an honor to me. This is my third class I recorded with KelbyOne and each and every time we start filming, I am reminded that I am working with an incredibly talented and professional team.

For this class, Christina, Jason, and Juan brought a level of attention to detail that was second to none. Every angle, every shot, every transition was carefully thought through, and they made the entire experience not only seamless, but genuinely enjoyable.

What people don’t always see is just how much goes into creating something like this. There’s a lot happening behind the scenes, and having a team like this putting it all together makes all the difference.

We filmed part of the class on location in St. Petersburg, Florida, working through real-world scenarios as the light changed during blue hour.

That time window is short, and conditions shift quickly, which is exactly why understanding light and being able to adapt is so important as a photographer.

While this class I teach focuses on cityscapes and blue hour photography, the principles apply directly to my work as a Frederick MD wedding and portrait photographer.

Whether I’m photographing a skyline or a couple during an engagement session, it always comes down to the same fundamentals — light, composition, timing, and emotion.

That’s what allows me to create images that feel natural, authentic, and timeless for every couple and family I work with.
